What can be said about RT?

Radio Tokyo is a five piece touring cover act from Pittsburgh, PA that has been a unique stand-out on the live music circuit for almost twenty years. However, it wasn't until 2014 when Frontman Chris "Ambition the Kid" Myers joined the group that the band found it's true niche.  Ambition came to Radio Tokyo as a former lead singer of the nationally/internationally acclaimed boy band Pretty Ricky.  (Remember the hits "Grind On Me", "Your Body" and "On The Hotline"?)  With the voice and dance moves of artists like Usher and Chris Brown and the rhythmic/lyrical flow of hip-hop legends like Ludacris, Eminem and Drake, Ambition inspired the band to reimagine their playlist and stage show, highlighting the superior talents of Ambition and the rest of the band and evolving the show into something truely unique on the cover scene.

Since those days the band has further expanded the range of their performances, and risen to even greater levels of success with the recent addition of several new members, including singer/songwriter/guitarist Ezra Hamilton from Wheeling, WV. Ezra's arrival marked a new era for RT growing the band into a true dual-fronted, powerhouse of an act that can perform virtually any style of music from old school country to hard core hip-hop with authenticity and a unique flare.

And the remaining members of the band are no slouches either.  Founding member and drummer/vocalist Jason Miller is a former member of major label recording artists Rusted Root and has toured the country performing shows to tens of thousands of screaming and dancing fans many times over.  And Lead Guitarist, Ross Heastings is also a skilled composer and degreed classical and jazz guitarist with perfomance and recording credits from all over the region. Finally, filling out the bottom end is bassist Eric "Chartman" Hundenski.  Eric has been a known commodity on the Pittsburgh music scene for over a decade and is one of the region's "go-to" sidemen for all things bass.

As a final thought, If you asked any of the members of Radio Tokyo what adjective best sums up their act, you would likely get a reply of "authentic" or "legit".  The band has always performed at the highest level and sets themselves apart from other acts by always aspiring to capture the original vibe of the song and putting RT's signature stamp and larger-than-life phat sound on it.  If they are performing a hip-hop song, it's legit, country- it's authentic. Pop or rock, it's legit and so on and so on, regardless of musical genre.
